You made the statement about sitting at a

used to fix computers and that was not a sitting job!). I can tell

debilitating pain not grounds for disability? I don't have any

plans to

quit my job to go on disability, but my God, if I wasn't on neurontin, or

if it didn't work and didn't have the pain controlled at all, I doubt

that

I would be able to even sit at a desk.

Can you give me any information on that kind of

thing?

extremely difficult to perform my job, or to actually try to find a

job if I didn't have this one. Sitting for any great length of time

is almost as bad as standing or walking. And if bladder urgency

comes into play, how tolerant is a company with phone

, Lynn,

I can not speak for Soc Sec Admin or insurance companys, I can only

pass on what I have personally learned from phone conversations, written

correspondence, etc. Basically, what I have learned the rule is, if you

can not perform the functions of your job because of an ailment

(physical, mental, whatever), then you should qualify for

disability. If you sit at a desk, and that is required for you to do your

job, and your doctor signs a statement that says you can not sit in a

chair at a desk to do your work, then they should give you

disability benefits. Every case is treated on an individual basis because

every case has different circumstances.

Everyone that applies for disability should get copies of what their

doctor sends in. You should kinda 'coach' your doctors on what to say.

Make sure the doctor specifically states that you can not do your

job, for whatever reason.
