The acai berry is the foundation of the MonaVie blend, but with literally thousands of phytonutrients and antioxidants found in nature's fresh fruits. MonaVie didn't want to focus on just one at the expense of others. This led MonaVie's selection of 18 additional fruits, each selected for its unique, beneficial properties and ability to contribute a variety of phytonutrients and antioxidants to MonaVie's premier nutritional beverage. Together, the synergistic effect of the fruits in the MonaVie blend reaches far beyond what any single fruit could accomplish.Supports your body's antioxidant and nutritional needs. MonaVie features a delicious blend of the Brazilian acai berry - one of nature's top superfoods - and 18 other body-beneficial fruits. This Balance-Variety-Balance approach to nutrition delivers powerful antioxidants and phylonutrients to help fight free radicals and maintain your body's overall health. The Acai Berry With 15 times the antioxidants of grapes and twice the antioxidants of blueberries, the Brazilian Acai berry (AH-sci-EE) is considered to have the best nutritional value of any fruit on earth. With the symmetry of a grape and the size of a giant blueberry, the Acai fruit tastes a bit like wild raspberry with a hint of grape. Most people have trouble putting their finger on the taste because it's so different. The Acai Berry is a dense source of a particular class of flavonoids called anthocyanins. Acai Berry's ORAC value (a measure of its antioxidant properties), is higher than any other edible berry on the planet. The Acai Palm is a tall slender South American (concentrated in Brazil, Guyana, Suriname) palm grown for its fruit as well as for the "cabbage" (the cluster of new leaves more commonly called the "heart of palm"). It prefers swampy areas, and grows quickly. The fronds were (and still are) used for thatching and weaving. Each Acai palm tree produces small deep purple, almost black, fruit (berries) in groups of 3-8 per bunch. The fruit is edible, and its pulp is used in wines, liqueurs, as flavoring, as colorant, and on its own as a juice. Guest guest
Ann, My daughter has neutropenia, so I am always on the watch of making sure she is well nourished to keep her immune system efficient. One product that I give her [based on her nutritionists recommendation] is a product called, IgG 2000 DF by xymogen. We also drink MonaVie on a daily basis as another posted recommended. Plenty of water is also important for our systems to run efficiently, so I would make sure your little girl is always hydrated. As for fruits and vegetables, do you have a juicer? She might like the fresh juice and that would give her the vitamins and minerals she needs from whole foods. You can even freeze the fresh juice and she could suck on them like pops? Good luck and have a safe and healthy winter. Guest guest
Vitamin D is called the "sunshine" vitamin. You get this vitamin naturally from the sun. So in the winter, we get less time in the sun which in turn decreases our Vit D intake. Just be careful in getting too much Vitamin D. Too much can cause a person to absorb too much Calciumhttp://amomsblog.wordpress.com/2008/10/21/should-you-get-the-flu-shot-or-just-take-vitamin-d/
