Guest guest
Hello: Sue is ready to start the writing group! We would like to extend this invitation to parents of children that have tethered cord, or any medical conditions relating to this to join in also. We all need an outlet and from what Sue has written me about this group, this is your chance! We are going to keep an age limit of 18 on the writing list. There may be language, thoughts and writings that would inappropriate for anyone younger. Sue will be running this in a way that no one will feel singled out. Only positive feedback is allowed and...well, I would really like her to explain her technique for this (Sue?) I encourage all who want to, to join us. To join the group you go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TCSWG and click on subscribe. You will immediately notice that your subscription has to approved. Upon either Sue or I receiving notification that you want to join *and if your address is also listed with our group*, you will be approved asap. We have set it up this way in an effort to avoid having " outsiders " join the group. We wanted to keep it a safe place to write and this is one way we can. The other way we have done this is to not list it within Yahoo groups. If someone was looking for support with writing, they wouldn't find it looking for it in Yahoo groups going through the normal paths. They would have to literally do a search for tscwriting group. Now how many people who don't know we exist would do this? As you can see, as far as restrictions and attempts to keep our privacy, we have done all we can do. Also, please note that when you join this group, you agree that all written material is copywritten by the individual authors and nothing, and I mean nothing will be allowed to be taken from this list and posted anywhere else or used as your own material elsewhere. This will be result in immediate expulsion from not only that list, but this list also and immediate notification to your internet provider. We are again, doing this in an effort to make everyone feel safe so they can share their feelings and write whatever they please. Well, there...after explaining all that, I hope I've relieved some fears about joining an online writing group. There's also another way to do this for those that are still apprehensive about using the Internet for this venue. My suggestion is this: sign up for a free email account somewhere...Hotmail, Yahoo, your name at your domain, etc. Then sign up for the writing group using that email address, but write to either Sue or I privately letting us know who you are so we will approve that address (we will hold to confidentiality rules.) You can then write to that list using the anonymous address and you don't even have to sign your name to your posts and you will have an outlet. We have gone to these extremes hoping more people will sign up for this. We need some members to join and participate in order for this to work and I'm sure many of you are like me...would love to do something like this in the real world, but have neither the time, energy or stamina to do it on a consistent basis. Sue has put a lot of hard work and thought into designing this list and I hope members respect this and join if they would like. (You don't have to be approved to unsubscribe...I should mention that...you leave whenever you want.) Hope to see you there (I'm already signed up and waiting anxiously for this to start...Man do I need this outlet.) Kathy and Sue
