Guest guest
My 4 yr old (with post traumatic stress disorder and reactive attachement disorder) work up last night at 3:30 absolutely terrified. We know from a neurotransmitter test that he basically lives in fight-or-flight. However, I'd never seen him quite so terrified before. I was willing to chalk it up to a bad nightmare in a kid with neurotransmitter issues, but my MIL is pushing the issue that there is something wrong. (She is somehow convinced that he was sexually abused...a supposition I doubt. She has a lousy track record and she ALWAYS goes for the drama. She also decided my oldest's autism was my fault because I let him watch the tank engine over and over and all I would feed him--read: all he would eat--was french fries and chicken nuggets. And she told me the 4 yr old's problems were my fault because he could have a cookie with his lunch. And she meant ALL my fault) What else can I investigate so my DH can report back that I am, in fact, being diligent? He is on a bunch of supplements and herbs, he does get a small dose of melatonin 0.25 mg to help him settle down for sleep since he is over-revved. Thanks, Jill
Guest guest
I don't know if this is the issue, but when I give my daughter (8 yrs)melatonin (1 mg) it gives her very bad nightmares. I tried a few times and nightmares every time. Ones that really shake her up. My son takes it with no problem, but I know I can't give her any. Guest guest
When my son went into severe fright and terror mode 3-4 months ago for no apparent reason (I surmised it was a bacterial layer) I bought 3 Bach Flower remedies: 1. mimulus 2. star of bethlehem 3. rock rose (this one is for fright and extreme terror) I found them cheapest on vitacost.com Gayatri > > > > My 4 yr old (with post traumatic stress disorder and reactive > > attachement disorder) work up last night at 3:30 absolutely > > terrified.
