Guest guest
Hi , Your last post there has interested me as mine too fluctuates, depending on trigger noises I have already been exposed to, sleep and a diet, but that may be something to do with my energy levels. I am curious if you, or anyone else, has any thoughts as to why this is the case? Maybe there is something here that we can utilize.... Sniffing, throat-clearing, chewing/smacking (sometimes--depends on the situation), gum popping, traffic noise, airplane noise, dog barking Those are the main ones, but other things bother me if they're repetitive and uncontrollable, like pen clicking or knuckle cracking. Does any one person or group of people bother you more than others? My family bugs me most, but I think that's because I spend the most time with them. The sound itself is what really gets to me, no matter who is making it. What is your " inside " reaction? I feel like I can't stand to hear anymore, like I'm going to explode or cry. I feel like I have to get away or make the sound stop, and I find it difficult to focus on anything else. How do you actually react? I try to get away from the noise, and if it's not possible, I get extremely irritable or angry. I have been known to throw a childish temper tantrum, but only in front of my husband, not in public (yet). What are some reactions you've gotten from others when you've been " annoyed " by their noises? I usually keep it to myself, since most people are not happy to hear that you're annoyed by them. Some people get defensive, but some are nice about it and will stop. How would you rate your 4S? Mild, moderate, severe, profound? Moderate, but it fluctuates wildly--sometimes it's quite mild, sometimes it's severe. It depends mostly on how much I'm exposed to trigger sounds. If I'm exposed constantly, it gets very bad. If I spend most of my time trigger-free, I'm much more tolerant of the noises when I hear them.
