Guest guest
Hello all, I just saw the doctor today. My liver function is completely normal after 25 days on Diflucan 200 mg a day. I will start penicillin tomorrow for 2 weeks and then do the whole cycle two more times. I also got a capsacin spray, yes, now I am pepper spraying myself, to see if this relieves the weird pressure headache. I've used it 3 days and can't tell if it is helping. Today I have a rather bad pressure headache just above both ears. My lumbar puncture tests continue to come back all normal even the cultures they grew for a month. One glitch, they didn't do the MS test, but since my MRI was normal the MS test PROBABLY would have been normal. The initial pressure was 210 with 180 being the high range of normal. However, my doc says they never get concerned at 210. We both think it could be high for me and that I might be super sensitive to the elevated pressure. I did not have any relief of headache after the spinal tap. This would lead me to believe that the pressure is not causing the headache. My blood pressure MAY have spikes where is becomes high. Most of the time it is quite normal. But the doc gave me a low dose BP medication today which I will take. One further thought - I have always responded well to Zithromax which is processed through the liver via the P450 pathway. Diflucan is also processed through P450. The theory behind why it works on borrelia is that borrelia uses a P450 enzyme to reproduce or something?? - this makes me think that both Zithromax and now Diflucan may be the best thing for me to take NOT TOGETHER. This may also explain why I do so well on Zithromax even though theoretically it is not the best antibiotic for borrelia. Anyway, I plan to continue the Schardt protocol. I feel bad enough these 25 days that I actually may be herxing which I never did on Zithromax. Of course, it may just be the continuation of whatever started seven months ago when I developed the headache and vertigo. No one knows. a Carnes
