Guest guest
The UNOS Transplant Administrators Committee is considering holding the 2002 Transplant Management Forum in Las Vegas. This will be the 10th anniversary of the Forum and Las Vegas seems like an appropriate place to have a big bash. Las Vegas presents a number of challenges to meeting planners, however and it would offer more flexibility to UNOS Travel and Conference planning if they could consider going to a weekday meeting format, either Monday midday through Thursday midday or Tuesday midday through Friday midday (since, with the pre-conference workshop, the conference now covers all or parts of four days). The usual Saturday night stay requirements to obtain less expensive air fare do not apply in Las Vegas; since most of their traffic is over a weekend, there are not the usual incentives to stay over Saturday. My question for the Transplant Administrators and Transplant Financial Coordinator groups is: Would shifting the Forum to a weekday format for 2002 (only, probably, unless we discover another location in the future where the Saturday night stay does not matter) be an acceptable alternative or would it have a negative impact on your ability to attend? I look forward to your feedback. Bill Van Vleck Staff Liaison, UNOS Transplant Administrators Committee
