Guest guest
Good question. I felt that I became more susceptible to sinus infections after the surgery, but who knows? Perhaps more air in there helps? Plus all that betadine. :-) I'm not counting on a cure or anything yet. Just happy about this positive development. Drug free (or almost) for a change...what a concept! pennyKate <KateDunlay@...> wrote: On Jan 14, 2007, at 11:47 PM, Penny Houle wrote:> For the first time in months & months, I've been able to stop > taking the antibiotics with none of the usual symptoms returning! > I've been almost 2 weeks now and all I'm taking is an antifungal > and surprisingly, I'm feeling good.> Feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time.>> pennyGreat news, Penny! Guest guest
That is good news... Ley s hope those 2 weeks stretch out to 2 years.. What anti-fungal are you on? I'm afraid to hope it, but perhaps I've actually knocked the bacteria down and now just have to deal with the residual fungus? I'm off the Benicar...off the abx. I'm going to concentrate on some of the good supplements that I know are helpful to my immune system during this pharmaceutical break, but not overload on anything. I'm also going to keep doing the betadine rinses, both nasal and oral. I think they're really helpful. > > Keeping my fingers crossed that perhaps I'm finally getting an upper hand on this bone infection. At least it gives me hope. Got a new car, so now I've got an air conditioned ride to Arizona. :-) The scans should show me the really bad spots, and then I'll have some kind of basis for action. > > Feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time. > > penny >
Guest guest
Penny this is great news. Which antifungal are you taking? I guess you noticed I am doing diflucan for two reasons - I got thrush 8 months ago and Dr. Schardt thinks it will inhibit borrelia. We shall see. Anyway, if you drive to AZ please stop in Las Vegas and we can have lunch together. a Carnes > > Hi all, > > Well, I've had an interesting development. Guest guest
Thanks Barb, I hope to continue to improve for all our sakes. But we'll see. Currently on V-fend. But it's been really difficult with my insurance company. That drug costs close to 2k a month so they don't want to prescribe it. I actually preferred Lamisil, another very expensive drug, which they also refused to represcribe after 3 months. Unfortunately, diflucan does pretty much nothing for me so I'm constantly battling my insurance company to get what I need. Without the abx, though, perhaps the diflucan could be more effective? Looking forward to getting off the anti-fungals because they're hard on the liver. pennyBarb Peck <egroups1bp@...> wrote: That is good news...Leys hope those 2 weeks stretch out to 2 years..What anti-fungal are you on?Barb>> Hi all,> > Well, I've had an interesting development. Guest guest
Thanks, so much for this information. Patrice, right now I am waiting to see if my doctor can get my insurance to foot the bill. If not I will certainly go to Costco and fill the prescription. I just decided to take a week off and wait rather than pay so much money. I figured one week wouldn't hurt, and I didn't feel so good on penicillin anyway. a C. > > a, I read in an earlier post that you were paying $350 for Diflucan a > month.
