Guest guest
We get a much happier boy after a week or so of vancomycin. He had very high clostridia markers so we've done a course of it. We stopped it recently and reintroduced probiotics. He's gone really sore - acid poos, sore skin, sore lips, very pale low grade rash. Any thoughts - he's just sore all over, nothing to go to a doctor with but uncomfortable in his skin. usualy probiotics have no effect and, indeed, do not colonise his gut at all effectively. Is this the VSL 3 - which we've used for months with no reaction but never after vancomycin. Or is the time of year (very cold today) or... what? he's been really really great recently, best ever at school. SO something that was working is not currently working and he's very unhappy. think we shouldn'T have stopped the vanco. Anyone else using it (the oral version). Or should we have started with a very mild probiotic but usually we miss our window of opportunity and Bad Bugs move in overnight.
