Schultz ST, Klonoff-Cohen HS, Wingard DL, Akshoomoff NA, Macera CA, Ji M. University of California San Diego, USA. .schultz@ med.navy. mil The present study was performed to determine whether acetaminophen (paracetamol) use after the measles-mumps- rubella vaccination could be associated with autistic disorder. This case-control study used the results of an online parental survey conducted from 16 July 2005 to 30 January 2006, consisting of 83 children with autistic disorder and 80 control children. Acetaminophen use after measles-mumps- rubella vaccination was significantly associated with autistic disorder when considering children 5 years of age or less (OR 6.11, 95% CI 1.42-26.3), after limiting cases to children with regression in development (OR 3.97, 95% CI 1.11-14.3), and when considering only children who had post-vaccination sequelae (OR 8.23, 95% CI 1.56-43.3), adjusting for age, gender, mother's ethnicity, and the presence of illness concurrent with measles-mumps- rubella vaccination. Ibuprofen use after measles-mumps- rubella vaccination was not associated with autistic disorder. This preliminary study found that acetaminophen use after measles-mumps- rubella vaccination was associated with autistic disorder. http://www.ncbi. nlm.nih.gov/ pubmed/18445737? ordinalpos= 1 & itool=EntrezSy stem2.PEntrez. Guest guest
> > You know that would make sense!! I load up on the gluthathione cream prior to vaccinations and only use Motrin, if even needed. > I stopped vaccinating my children in 1993, after learning the truth about it on a Seattle radio program. Now we have sites like thinktwice.com for updates. quoted from Mercola.com During its two-decade history, two out of three individuals applying for federal vaccine injury compensation have been turned away empty-handed even though to date $1.8 billion has been awarded to more than 2,200 plaintiff's out of some 12,000 who have applied. Today, nearly 5,000 vaccine injury claims are sitting in limbo because they represent children who suffered brain and immune system dysfunction after vaccination but have been diagnosed with regressive autism, which is not recognized by the program as a compensable event. There is $2.7 billion sitting in the Trust Fund, which could have been awarded to vaccine victims. unquote If vaccination is safe, how come millions and millions are paid in damages? If this was a BUSINESS, nobody would ever let it continue. Vaccination is a crime against children. But that's just me. I don't keep silent about it anymore. no apologies, Moe
Guest guest
Might be connected, but my gut response is that it is the MMR, not what is given during/after. Complete layman's thoughts, though and only my own personal opinion. Guest guest
I think that the connection is glutathione. Glutathione is important because it helps remove toxins and is an important part of the methylation process. According to a study done by Dr. Jill , kids with autism typically have decreased levels of glutathione.. http://www.autismcoach.com/Glutathione%20Research.htm Paracetamol(acetaminophen..tylenol) is metabolized by the liver in a 3 part process…one of the steps involves glutathione….so, if you have a child who is already low in glutathione , and you give them a drug that further decreases glutathione, maybe that could just be the final straw? FYI…people with Ds also have reduced levels of glutathione. Lots more information here: http://www.gotdownsyndrome.net/glutathione & acetaminophen.html From: DownSyndromeInfoExchange [mailto:DownSyndromeInfoExchange ] On Behalf Of Tara Hintz Sent: Wednesday, December 17, 2008 1:55 PM To: DownSyndromeInfoExchange Subject: Re: [DownSyndromeInfoExchange] Paracetamol use linked to autism Might be connected, but my gut response is that it is the MMR, not what is given during/after.
