Guest guest
Tony and Penny thanks so much for your responses. I didn't get them before seeing the doc but I think she would have agreed with you, Penny. Here is my brief summary of what we concluded - for now. Human guinea pig report 2 I saw my doctor today, taking a chart with me of my symptoms during the past seven weeks. (Remember I had a pressure headache, vertigo and vestibular nerve damage for 8 months.) During the 25 days on Diflucan I ran a low grade fever the first few days and had some nausea one day. My liver function remained normal. The last 10 days my headache was slightly better. During the 14 days on penicillin the headache and vertigo completely disappeared by day 4 and did not return until 3 days after I finished the 14 days of diflucan. I restarted the diflucan at that point and the headache, slight stiff neck and vertigo continue. I am again running a low grade fever after 5 days on diflucan - the second cycle. My doctor and I think the most likely explanation is that the diflucan is killing cyst form borrelia, the penicillin is killing the active borrelia, and this second phase relieves the headache. We do not know for sure as there could be a secondary infection. For now the doctor feels I should continue with the protocol and put up with the headache. a Carnes
