Guest guest
Hello everyone, is 6 today! He started diet at 3 and biomed started soon after I joined this board. I think he was 3 and a half when I joined. Then ABA (VB) for 2 years home and his lovely school. He is making good, steady progress. It is such a wonderful joy to be able to talk to him and him to talk back when the initial prognosis was very, very poor. earlier, " Hey, its your birthday tomorrow " (Beaming face) I'm getting presents and a cake " " How old are you going to be? " " Six " (He thinks a bit) ....Can I have my birthday at home? (me) " No, you have to go to school " . " I don't want to go to school! " I want to have my presents at home. " Me: You have to go to school. But you'll get your big present when you get home ....(having thought through how the hell I'm going to get him out of the house otherwise) Jay: Its not bedtime. me: Yes it is. Jay: I don't want to go to bed yet. Jay: I want to play Crash Bandicoot Mummy. I don't want to go to bed. Go and have a cigarette. Daddy, do the garden (i.e. gets rid of both of us!) Me Why do you want to play Crash Bandicoot? Jay: Because I like it. Me: Ask your Dad. Jay asks and gets turned down. Me: Do you want to play Crash Bandicoot just a tiny bit, or really, really? Jay: I want to play Crash Bandicoot a big bit! Guys I am not saying this is like scintillating conversation or anything, and God knows Jay still has issues, but to see him now, after all the worry, you should see some of the earlier posts on this board, many of you remember me and how I worried so much when Jay was young, and I'm not saying I don't still go through that, but today I see he has come an awful long way, and for him to understand what his birthday means, is just nothing short of a miracle. I'm thankful for his progress and I hope everyone on this board gets what they so so deserve, for the pain we and our kids go through. Lots of love to everyone here who has helped our family when they have stressful lives themselves. We cannot thank you all enough. God bless Eileen, and xx
