Guest guest
: Wow, your experiments sound fascinating, and, hopefully will result in something new for all of us to try or at least more insight into this condition. I agree about the control factor being very much a part of the strong reaction we all have to trigger sounds. Is there someone you can ask to play the sounds for you, and make them understand that, under no circumstances, are they to turn off the sounds at your command? That would really setup a more realistic experiment for you. If you can stop it yourself or you know you can get away at any time, it's much easier to deal with, at least for me. > > Hi All, > > > > I am running another test on brainwave entertainment. Guest guest
I agree that control is a huge aspect. But there's also something else I can't put a name on. Maybe a couple things, the first is 'innocence.' My baby's noises don't bother me. In fact, I think they're cute. Unfortunately, though, my almost 3 year old is starting to bother me with his eating noises. I still have some control over his lip smacking, but popcorn is popcorn, right? The other thing, maybe along the same lines...I was in the other room the other day & as I was approaching the living room, I heard what sounded like lip smacking. I looked to verify, knowing my noisily eating brother was in there, and as soon as I saw that it wasn't lip smacking but, instead, my brother kissing my baby's head repeatedly, the noise no longer bothered me at all. The two noises are very similar but something about knowing it was kissing instead of lip smacking made a difference in my reaction to it. Is that strange?! > > > > Hi All, > > > > > > > > I am running another test on brainwave entertainment.
