Guest guest
Thats beauiful From: Soundsensitivity [mailto:Soundsensitivity ] On Behalf Of lclifton22 Sent: Saturday, 29 November 2008 8:07 AM To: Soundsensitivity Subject: my new deaf friend In the mornings I go to the dog park and this week I saw a man with an adorable little dog that was playing with my dog. I looked and noticed that he had big hearing aides and I could tell by his speech that he had hearing problems. So I just asked him how long he had hearing problems for. He told me that it had been all his life and that it had gotten worse with age. i told him that I have hearing issues too, but the opposite.. and went on to explain 4S to him. He told me that he would trade anything in the world to spend a day with my ears! I told him that I would love to take his ears for a day as well. We talked for almost two hours and I learned so much... he taught me how to read body language becasuse I have trouble modulating my voice with my earplugs in. Also, I dream of being deaf or hard of hearing but he really showed me that it is extremely difficult and what a struggle it is to connect with others. In the end we both decided to just wish for normal hearing! We are going to meet up again. Even though are problems are opposite we sure have a lot in common. Guest guest
THis is a beautiful message- so glad you connected. I agree, being deaf or hard of hearing must be an awful curse, but having 4S is really a terrible thing to live with also. Guest guest
Hi , Sometimes we are forced down a certain path from some condition or event or another and heading down that path opens and forces us through doors that we normally wouldn’t have taken and sometimes they are the best thing that could have happened to us, good luck J From: Soundsensitivity [mailto:Soundsensitivity ] On Behalf Of Abraham Sent: Monday, 1 December 2008 8:18 AM To: soundsensitivity Subject: RE: my new deaf friend Well here's a really weird one! I've recently started seeing someone who I started chatting to on an internet messageboard (4S has left my dating 'on hold' for years). Turns out she is half deaf and has to wear hearing aids. In a way this should mean that it just wouldn't work - but we both recognise that these are real issues that the other faces and are probably more tolerant as a result! Very strange.
