Here's a good PDF file that explains alot of conditions. I had one

pupil (right eye) that was more dilated that the left for a while -

and it returned to normal - there was never any reason given to me

why this occured (I know 3rd nerve palsy can cause pupil problems -

as can some infections- and some other conditions).

I don't think the condition means it has to be permanent- (what I

mean is that there are many things that can cause it) -

What a jerk the neurologist was though...

Good luck, and keep us posted.

I know how it sucks to have a continual head ache.

a, my daughter had a migraine every day for well over 6 months. It was a nightmare. They started after a bad case of mono. We went to doctor after doctor including a neurologist who scanned her head and prescribed all kinds of drugs. His final dx...take her to a psychiatrist. Obviously they must be psychological, since he couldn't find a reason for them. I was FURIOUS! This had been a totally happy, well adjusted child doing great in school, who suddenly couldn't function or come out of a dark room. I got really mad, decided to go alternative since I was getting nowhere in the allopathic world. I interviewed some chiropractors and settled on one who told her that if she worked with him, they were going to get her well. Basically, one of the vertabrae in her neck was out of line which was causing continuous pressure on the nerves. He also took her off

all dairy products which really helped her a lot (she still has to be careful with dairy). He saw her every day, was very, very attentive to her, and within a week, the headaches were gone! For a couple of years after that, bright sunlight would still trigger a headache. Her pediatric opthamologist, who's been a great doctor for her for over 10 years, said that some people are just photosensitive and she should probably not live in Southern California when she grew up. (Not so sure about that dx.) Fortunately, she reacts to sun pretty normally now, and only occasionally gets a headache from it. The point here is, my experience with doctors is that far more of them fall into the "idiot" category than the genius category, so if I were you, I'd be listening to Matt. penny Barb Peck <egroups1bp@...>

There could be a number of reasons. Graves patients often have one pupil dilated. They have so much pressure behind the eyes that it pushes their eyeballs right out of their heads. So far, medicine can't figure out why or how to treat. If meds don't work, the only option is to cut the bone back, sometimes repeatedly, as the eyes keep pressing forward. I don't think these guys have a great handle on head pressure yet, so I wouldn't put all my faith in this guy to connect all the dots. penny

My good GP said she treated one patient who had been in a minor car

accident - bumped over a speed bump too fast. She got a leak in the

back of her head with spinal fluid leaking into her neck. She was

fine once they patched the leak, so to speak.

You see why I like my GP. She's been around.
