why do doctors use eds machines and ART testing?

For those of you who see doctors using both ART and biomeridian/EDS machines, I was wondering why they use both. Doesn't the ART testing do the same as the machines they use? Just wondering if I should order the ART DVDs if I can have access to a machine.
