And then I moved up to a quite high dose cited as a somewhat effective experimental lupus therapy in Dubois' lupus. I think I've had significant effects regarding heat resistance, sleep, and overall vigor, but am not 100% certain. I am far from necessarily recommending that others follow my course of action, which amounts to self-experimentation. DHEA is believed to have a net Th1-directing effect, and it's possible that could worsen Th1-dependent disease. Lupus symtoms are more likely to be Th2-driven, so what works for lupus may not work for other diseases. (And as for my CFS, it may not be the same as others' CFS.) I've also heard of one person losing most of their hair... and of course I didn't examine the masculinizing effects DHEA can have, since they are of no concern to me. I also have yet to examine the potential for long-term ill effects of the high dose regime (as I really don't give a damn about doubling my risk of heart attack, or any other modest risk change of that kind).
