I'm not suggesting that one or two or FIVE things will result in recovery. This triphala (or haritaki, or terminals cherbula (sp)) extract may -- may -- just be one part of the puzzle. Hypercoagulation/inflammaton resulting from infections is very important -- as is methylation. Funny how one researcher (like Rich Van K) thinks it's one thing, then Pall thinks it's overproduction of peryoxinitrates and all one needs is lots of antioxidants, etc., so it will be interesting to hear the results of their convening soon. But back to the triphala, etc., treatment that the med student stumbled upon. I may be wrong, but I believe that is the only compound that has been shown to destroy the biofilm that p's protect themselves with. Perhaps garlic helps as well...I'll post a study in a second... d. > > > > > > > > > > That's a scary thought. Guest guest
Looks like gallium may also break up the bio-film. I sure hope so. I so appreciate that you posted about these 2 things. I really hope they turn out to be effective new weapons in our arsenals. I'm hopeful with the gallium because I always feel that results in animals can be more trusted because animals aren't susceptible to the placebo effect. pennykdrbrill <kdrbrill@...> wrote: Forgot to reply earlier. Guest guest
Dan This does require multi disciplined approaches. I tend to get loud and boystrous when people are led to believe something is antibacterial, blood thinnning and you'll often read silly statements like I take this vitamin for that, I do the shots for this, and I take garlic for the INFECTIONS. There's plenty of people in cemeteries that think they can take garlic instaed of the correct treatment for tuberculosis as an egs. so you'll think that aussie is getting pissed, but what tends to happen alot of things start becoming wive's tale truths instaed of being catagorised correctly. I'm probably the loudest person to give the herxheimer reaction a kick in the back side and it's just about lost any credability with many with these ilnessses- wheras a few years back it was like L. A. W.- Law in these ilnesses. You need to get worse before you get better was the catchcry. I tend to think if your suffering your causing damage that should be avoided..If you did something that made you chuck up and clear out your intestines, I'd be happier to think your body is eliminating bad things rather than sitting thru and suffering massive pain and more importantly damage IMO..' tony > > > > > > > > > > > > That's a scary thought. Guest guest
Totally agree Tony -- the web is loaded with " oh, I took this " or " have you tried this " , without ever talking about the complexity of the illnes, and NEVER talking about RESTINGN. Regarding TB however, let me offer this one story: My grandmother had TB back in the 1920's, before they had all these so-called wonder drugs. She was sick for almost a year... The treatment back then: A sunny sanatorium, rest, and REAL food. Sun was critical, and now we have studies that back up vitamin d's influence in immune function. She got well, and lived for another 55 years. In pretty good health except for deafness and some arthritis...... d. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > That's a scary thought. Guest guest
Dan That's a mistake often m,ade- You can have tuberculosis as a colonised person and you can have the ravages of tuberculosis a close friend had, -which is the reason he needed the medicine- it dessimated him from being a 6 foot 200 pounder to being skinny as a stick 6 footer with active tuberculosis NEEDING SERIOUS THERAPY to save his life.So your grandma's tuberculosis story can fit and sound like something it isn't. I actually come from a village in greece and many would have TB and the well fed/ well hydrated ones had a better chance- not a guarantee, probably the pathway of there disease may have been the difference between life and death on many occasions, not to mentiuon all the oppurtunistic infections that came in secondarily.. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > That's a scary thought. Guest guest
The history of TB written by Dormandy MD PhD tells about a study that was one key in the obsolescence of the sanatoria: abx plus the sanatorium regime showed no additional effectiveness compared to abx alone. > > Totally agree Tony -- the web is loaded with " oh, I took this " or " have you tried this " , > without ever talking about the complexity of the illnes, and NEVER talking about > RESTINGN. Yeah, I think it was agreed by many of the old TB authorities that plenty of decent food was a good thing.
