what one parent is doing - re schooling......

I found this post from another site and wanted to post it as an

inspiration to any parents out there who are " well heeled " or who

might have the time/contacts or inspiration to replicate such an

idea.....I would LOVE to do or be part of something like this, but

how on earth does the average parent find the time or energy or money

for that matter. Obviously this parent did though and I just think

its an amazing idea.

" Good day all!

It has been amazing to see all of the posting lately! We have been

very very busy with 's therapies and school. He continues to

gain more language and is spontaneously using it to communicate! His

immune system is healing, and he is still an amazing, happy little

boy!

A friend and I are in the process of our business plan to build a

" Green " school. This is a chemically free, environmentally friendly

school. Our plan is to open within the next 2-4 years. Our focus is

child directed education, follow the child. Below are just some of

the things we are implementing.

Electric buses owned by our school

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chambers

DAN doctor on staff

Individual Son Rise playrooms within class rooms

Feng Shui design

No florescent lighting

Also housing for families moving here to attend while seeking a

permanent home

Organic garden/greenhouses

Our school curriculum will be Montessori

Therapies used will be Son rise, & Floor time depending what the

individual child is ready for.

Half of the school will be for neuro typical children and autistic

children ready to transition or who are ready to begin transitioning

into a regular class room.

The other half will be for autistic children.

Our teachers will be fully trained in Floor time, & Son rise as will

each teachers aide. All of the autistic children will have their own

aide that will be completely trained in both therapies.

We currently have an office administrator, grant writer, my friend who

will run the neuro typical end of the school and me who will run the

Son Rise/Floortime side.....The plan for the school will be located

in Hope New Jersey.
