Guest guest
That's hilarious. And ricidulous. Talk about spinning things. Come on, Roy. I won't even bother explaining how silly that claim is. If you do a search on the word "horse" you'll get several hundred hits. And the "cult like" atmosphere that surrounds a number of protocols that are pitched to pwcs is far more relevant to our discussion than horses. Why are you worried about this insignificant group's opinions anyway? You're not going to change history as we've experienced it so you'd probably do better focusing your energies elsewhere. penny royx31 <roysno@...> wrote: Penny wrote: p.s. Also, Roy. Guest guest
Geez, Roy, doesn't this seem a bit silly to you? Apparently, our definition of free speech differs, as does our tolerance. Ultimately, since it's my list, I guess it's my call. That's an advantage for you since you haven't been banned for your comments, have you? You know good and well that the same courtesy would not be observed at the group you so vigorously defend. People who try to disagree on that site aren't allowed to post at all. I hope you can see the irony there. Here's my policy. I think these groups are capable of self regulating themselves. Better than many groups who are heavily policed and yet are frequently engaged in arguments over who's offended whom. The only people who are regularly banned from any of my lists are people who are selling things. There were a couple of exceptions several years ago,,, one person who was impersonating several people and another who published private communications to the list. I may have banned Trevor Marshall and some of his cronies, mainly as a symbolic gesture and because he wanted me to ban others, but I don't recall if I actually did because I knew that even if I did ban him, he'd get around that with his self professed internet "skills". I didn't even ban the person who helped with the lawsuit against me (and since apologized), so why would I worry about your definition of respect if I can handle that? You have to admit, respect is a pretty relative scale and difficult to quantify. Other than those few bannings I mentioned, I've asked a couple of people to tone it down but I'm not going to ban them for having caustic personalities. Usually I don't have to do anything at all. The way I see it, people are grown ups and can stick up for themselves if they feel the need. Most of us laugh it off. Life's too short to worry about such things. People who do get worked up go off in a huff anyway, so it continues to self regulate as I intended all along. Anyway, Roy, if YOU don't like the way I enforce my own policy, you don't need to stick around either. IMO, you have not been subjected to any disrespect so it still seems to me that you could put your energy and abilities to much better use on something much more significant than quibbling over semantics and a policy you aren't going to change. I know I'm not planning to waste any more of my time on the matter. penny royx31 <roysno@...> wrote: Obviously the search picks up anything with cult in it. There is no other way to search for it that I know of, but there are a lot of messages that talk about the MP as a cult. You evade my point again about treating people like you have written. From the homepage:> The only requirements for participation on this list are that people > be respectful of each others' opinions and view points, as all > perspectives are open for discussion.
