Guest guest
I have a puzzle for anyone interested. I can't take SSRIs - I get hyper, muscles get frozen and I stay awake for hours until the Paxil wears off. Then when I go to the dentist I can't take norepinephrine because it will cause days to weeks of extended pain. Any idea what is going on? If my dentist 15 months ago forgot and gave me norepinephrine could this have precipitated the constant pressure headache for a year? - a Carnes http://www.lexi.com/web/dentistrymailers.jsp?id=wynn_january06 Adverse effects of dental interest The antidepressants all have the potential to cause a variety of adverse effects and some are of concern if present in the dental patient. These include sedation, anticholinergic effects leading to dry mouth, and postural hypotension. Postural hypotension is a concern because of the possibility of an orthostatic hypotensive episode and syncope as the patient is getting up from the reclining position after treatment. Some antidepressants such as the TCAs also have the potential to interact with vasoconstrictor used in the local anesthetic regimen to result in possible increases in blood pressure.
