Guest guest
a She needs to revisit the lumbar puncture and get the complete lab reports..No nonsense stuff, I believe this, or that, from any medical imbeciles - ONLY THE FACTS on what grew in the culture, if they even culture anymore? I think the lumbar punctures are done for many piss poor reasons that don't really get any concrete results and the most important part, CULTURE, isn't interesting anymore... I wouldn't ever bother giving another l;umbar puncture due to the fact that it never gets anyone anywhere, as you's can all read with this latest dilemma...... > > A young woman whose baby had meningitis 2 weeks ago became sick and was > hospitalized two days and given a lumbar puncture which showed white blood > cells and protein. Guest guest
Her lumbar puncture did indicate infection. The couple was traveling across the US moving to San Diego. Both baby and then 1 week later the mother were hospitalized with what was diagnosed as menningitis. Now the mother is out of the hospital but experiencing ongoing severe headaches. (Boy, does this sound like me or what?) What is so totally stupid is the fact that it is obvious she is not effectively treated yet. I did get some names of doctors in Los Angeles. Hopefully she can get help there today or tomorrow. a > > a > She needs to revisit the lumbar puncture and get the complete lab > reports..No nonsense stuff, I believe this, or that, from any medical > imbeciles - ONLY THE FACTS on what grew in the culture, if they even > culture anymore? > I think the lumbar punctures are done for many piss poor reasons > that don't really get any concrete results and the most important > part, CULTURE, isn't interesting anymore... > I wouldn't ever bother giving another l;umbar puncture due to the > fact that it never gets anyone anywhere, as you's can all read with > this latest dilemma...... > > > > > > > > A young woman whose baby had meningitis 2 weeks ago became sick and > was > > hospitalized two days and given a lumbar puncture which showed > white blood > > cells and protein. Guest guest
a So with all the bells and whistles of infection she got NO TREATMENT? Or inadequate treatment? I bet she is going to be told it's viral and there's NO TREATMENT..I would still be screaming the question, what is growing in my lumbar puncture culture..the irony being this isn't even possably being done with the lumbar fluid... She's probably better off without treatment- there attempts are probably going to be all wrong, and the consequences, as we all know, can be wosre.. tony > > > > > > A young woman whose baby had meningitis 2 weeks ago became sick > and > > was > > > hospitalized two days and given a lumbar puncture which showed > > white blood > > > cells and protein. Guest guest
Hi a What's come of this? I think she should have made huge efforts to get her complete lab report so any infectious disaeses doc would have a clue on what may work best in the way of treatment.. tony > > > > > > A young woman whose baby had meningitis 2 weeks ago became sick > and > > was > > > hospitalized two days and given a lumbar puncture which showed > > white blood > > > cells and protein. She is now in Los Angeles and will be seeing the doc soon, I hope. It's freaky how much her case is like mine though. It's like, if the meningitis doesn't kill you they assume you didn't really have it. a
Guest guest
Exactly right a..I just hammer away at the culture because it's fresh in the lab and they won't bother too much with reporting if they see staph epi..Only if you hound will you get the full report of REALLY 'NO GROWTH' or more importantly what they consider irrelevant GROWTH, that really is relevant... > > > > > > Hi a > > What's come of this? Guest guest
Tony, Okay, I think I am beginning to see what you mean. Staph epi is what's on the culture from my nose. So if I got a nick in the back of my throat staph epi would be exactly what I was infected with. I don't have a doctor who is going to believe this. So what antibiotic would work? There really isn't any, is there? a > > Exactly right a..I just hammer away at the culture because it's > fresh in the lab and they won't bother too much with reporting if > they see staph epi..Only if you hound will you get the full report of > REALLY 'NO GROWTH' or more importantly what they consider irrelevant > GROWTH, that really is relevant... > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi a > > > What's come of this?
