Hi Amy, Personally, I think you should focus on the bacterial infections before you worry about the viruses. You may find they resolve themselves, once your bacterial load is knocked down, and this seems to be your doc's approach as well. If you overload him with stuff, you could get very unfocused care. Also, I'd definitely wait to see if the sinuses respond to the abx before worrying about ENTs. Most of them want to do surgery without addressing the cause of the sinus issues at all. I've only met one ENT who'd even test which organisms are present. Everybody else just doesn't care. Their solution is surgery. The head of the ENT department at UCSD told me he's "just a plumber". That's the training med students are getting at one of the best Medical Schools in the country. :"-( I also think dealing with mercury prior to treatment is another big mistake. If

anything, it's just going to weaken your immune system making it that much harder to treat the real infection. I'd stick with the guy willing to treat you with the abx, but stay on top of him to adapt the abx treatment as needed, i.e. if you see no improvement, or improvement wanes. You MUST stay on top of the abx treatment and adapt it as necessary. If you don't, it's all just wasted effort, and potentially makes your situation worse by creating more resistant bacteria. Once you're seeing some improvement, then it's possibly worth doing some probes with supplemental treatments. But I'd be very wary of mercury removal or surgeries without knowing EXACTLY what you're dealing with and how they plan on insuring your recovery from the procedure.
