Guest guest
Most likely, it's magnesium that makes the difference, not zinc. I recall that majority of US population don't take in enough magnesium daily but we do take in enough zinc, I believe. ZMA is really over hyped, that's for sure. Unless, you don't eat meat, you don't need ZMA but might benefit from magnesium supplement, probably in the form of glycinate form, not oxide or cheap ones that you see at the grocery stores. It's possible that we might need twice the RDA for magnesium. Remember, we're talking about athletes needing more certain nutrients to meet their bodies' demand than inactive people. Guest guest
*************** Posted by: " Schaefer " Isn't there also some evidence that too much zinc in diet actually can inhibit testosterone production? ********************* I'm really not sure. I'm not familiar with the literature on high doses of zinc. The best resource would be to check the DRI report at http://www.nap.edu and read about how the UL for zinc was set. ****************** overlook the reasonable? Do you have a website you can list out that busts the bodybuilding and other supplements as they become more researched independently? ******************* Not that I know of. When I wrote for Pure Power, we would sometimes have articles taking an objective look at certain supplements.
