Guest guest
Did you try to give him something like Nanotech Chitosan, activated charcoal? Cannot say about antibiotics, I am not a doctor here, you probably right about stopping them until you can reach the doctor who prescribed them. But I would still try to treat it like massive die-off reaction. I heard (don't remember details) that if something like herx happens in brains, nothing can really help, other stopping everything you do and waiting. Take care! Dina. ALA Hello; we have been using NCD for over 6mns now, and we are about to introduce ALA. Honestly, I'm not comfortable to use DMSA. The last time we used TD-DMPS with ALA, was 3 years ago, and I don't want to go down that route again. Can anyone suggest a natural chelating agent to replace DMSA. I know ALA is not strong enough to pull free radicals from the blood stream. Any advice would be much appreciated. TIA, S. Now with a new friend-happy design! Try the new Yahoo! Guest guest
Darci, I am sorry this is happening to you. My youngest son has had several seizures before, we did not stop his antibiotics. Can you have your LLMD paged to call you back? I know Lyme disease can cause seizures and if I were you I would not stop the antibiotics without your doc's ok. The thing about Lyme and antibiotics is if they are stopped before you know the Lyme is gone you will have a more resistant bug to deal with. We are seeing this in my middle son, years before we knew we had Lyme as a baby he was on and off antibiotics ALL the time with strep and ear infections etc. etc. and now he is the one out of my three that we will be starting a port on for IV therapy because he has been the least responsive to oral antibiotics. Protocol with antibiotics is to treat until ALL symptoms have resolved for 2 full months. Even though I have chosen the antibiotics route we support is with probiotics and several natural supplements, vitamins etc. My LLMD was sure that my youngest sons seizures had everything to do with his Lyme disease. It is very scary to go though, I was driving the first time my son had one and let me tell you, we are ALL lucky to be alive because I paniced! Try to contact your doctor or visit the ER, they can do a brain scan to be sure that there is no imediate threat. That's what they at least did for us. One of my twin boys is on antibiotics for lyme- been on 1 1/2 months. He has begun having seizure type behavior, multiple times during the day- sometimes lasting for 2 hours. He gets out of control hyper, babble talk etc. I'm losing it here- don't know what this is. I'm stopping the antibiotics tonight- this shouldn't be happening- it's not a herx- something that is out of control like I should call the hospital for help. I can't do this for fear they will call a psychiatric ward or something! has anyone ever heard of this??? I'm giving him benedryl to help calm him. Guest guest
Yes, some posted about the sodium levels dropping on the antibotics. You need to try to get some electrolytes down him. Even some REAL sea salt. Propel water, Gaterade - would also be helpful, but you need to do it everyday while on antibotics. I have friends whose children have seizures and Lymes, and its when their sodium levels drop the seizures increase.
