Has anyone ever noticed that those stinking speakers (subwoofers) actually can have an effect on your heart rhythm?! I used to live in a very old house in a not-so-great neighborhood and the kids would park in front of the house with those things playing. It literally shook the house. It's a good thing I didn't have a gun, I KNOW I would have uesd it. Not a great thing to know about yourself, that you're capable of murder...

Re: Take off your freaking shoes!

The guys in the dorm above me are awful. They always get in at about 1in the morning, and shoes or not, they walk REAL heavy. Like, THUNKTHUNK THUNK. THUNK. THUNK THUNK. THUNK.I think they slam down on their heels with every step! The guys downstairs brought a subwoofer to college. I hate their veryexistence. They blast music fairly often. We're in the process ofgetting them in big trouble with the residential office ;)

I recently

deleted my Yahoo email addy. I figured it would cease to forward the emails

from this group to my regular email addy. It did not. Can someone tell me how

to cancel this group or tell me how to get in touch with the group admin

please? Thank you.

Deep bass affects my heart rhythm and raises my blood

pressure instantly. It's pure evil.

A lot of music, especially rock, is based on eight beats, similar to the rhythm of a human heart, so naturally it will either energize you, or apparently cause stress. :(

This thread reminds me of something I read years ago in "Readers' Digest" (paraphrasing here) : A dorm apparently had a lot of students with sound systems, and they kept playing louder and louder, trying to beat each other in sheer volume.

It got so bad that finally the dorm supervisor walked the halls with a chainsaw going at full speed.

The sound wars stopped immediately.

Maybe that's what we need to do?
