Hi Jen,

In our appointment, my son just sat on the chiropractor table and followed instructions. For example, when they were testing the hand strength he would try to pull the thumb and first finger apart and tell to NOT let him pull them apart...to see how strong those muscles were. Then if it was weak, he would shine the laser in a certain spot and use this tapper thing on his belly or other area. It doesn't hurt. Now...if the child is unable to follow directions then the doc would test YOU while touching your child...you would act as a surrogate.

On your first appointment I would recommend telling him about Dr. E so they can collaborate.

HTH,

Tami

Re: Quantum Neurology update

Please tell us more about what to expect in an appointment.

It looks like there is a level 3 practitioner in my area...

I will have to call on Monday.

Jen

>

> I just wanted to let everyone know that we have had 3 quantum

neurology appointments so far which a chiropractor in San Diego,

CA.?? I am very impressed.?? I saw an IMMEDIATE improvement on the

first appointment.?? His major improvement is in his muscle

strength.? This is the first thing they work on.?? It has given my

son great confidence because before the appointment every single

major muscle on his body was weak and not working at optimum level -

about 50%.?? During the appointment my son commented that he felt

stronger.? Well this confidence has built even more because he is

challenging us to arm wrestling, mercy and thumb wrestling each

day...AND WINNING.?? He kicks my butt every time.

>

> We are now working on the cranial nerves and I have seen some

difference.? I can tell that some will be more stubborn than others

because of the lifelong damage.?? I can see the improvement in the

office and test him at home and the treatment is sticking.? Since my

son is 12 he has 12 years of compensation skills to over ride to

begin using these nerves the way he is supposed to.?

>

> Since we don't mention docs here...I will give the initials.? Dr.

CW from San Diego - you can go on the quantum neurology and search

for a doc.?? He is super excited to be working with autistic kids

(even though we are the first) and he is doing his research and

collaborating with Dr. E.? I am super impressed with him.? He also

doesn't look at our kids through their label, he looks at them

through their neurological damage, just like he looks at his injured

olympic athlete clients.???

>

> Lets put it this way....I'm driving 1 1/2 hours to get to this

guy.?? He mentioned to me that quantum neurology has evolved a lot

over the last 5 years and that parents looking for a QN er should go

to someone who has completed module 3 or module 2 in the last 2

years.? Anyone who has less experience , we should skip for now

because they don't have the knowledge yet of the sensory issues and

most importantly integrating the nerves, muscles to work together.

Yes a level 2 should be able to do a good job. What happens is that when you go in for your appointment let him know that Dr. E is willing to talk to him about working with the autism population. That's what I did and after the 2nd session, the 2 docs had talked and collaborated on our case. Dr. E is more than willing to coach these doctors, you wouldn't need to be her patient. If she gets too busy to do this, we are trying to get the information out at the next conference. June 2009 in AZ will be our annual conference - From Roadblocks to Recovery - we will have 2 speakers on quantum neurology. (to be announced in just a few weeks)

Re: Quantum Neurology Update

Thanks to all for sharing more info on QN.

I wonder if a level 2 practitioner (certified 04/07) would be good enough to spend time/$$ on (he is also 1.5 hrs away)?? This would be a difficult trip for my low functioning daughter. Those who have experienced QN, can you comment on whether level 2 certification would help?

Tami - you mentioned to get the QN practitioner to collaborate with DE. Would that mean I would have to get my kids on as patients with DE before the other doc calls her, or does she just do phone consults with doctors who are wanting to learn more?

Thanks!

Kim

Tami,

When will the meeting be in June 2009 in Az? I see a specialist at the Mayo Clinic and I would love to make it to one of these conferences as I now have 2 children with "autism" which is really Lyme! My five year old is doing ALOT better and my 10 year old just started IV therapy on Dec. 16th. My oldest (12) tomorrow doesn't have a autism diagnosis yet but is at a 1.5 grade reading level and cognitively impaired with ADD and ADHD. We still have a long road ahead of us but at least we are now on the right track. Thanks for the info.!

It is June 26 to 28 and the Mayo clinic is like 3 miles from the hotel! I think you will love the conference. I will announce the speakers and topics in just a few weeks.
