Instead of adding a tincture, why not make DMSO the menstruum for a

tincture? Much simpler. Tinctures have traditionally been used orally, but I

see no reason why a DMSO tincture could not have topical applications as

potent as oral ones.

Note that tincture is not a medication per se. It is only a process of

extraction. Change the ethanol menstruum in the traditional tincture to

DMSO.

I use DMSO with alcohol tinctures topically on my dogs -- mostly for

muscle / ligament type trauma. I don't see any signs of it making them

act like they have ingested significant amounts of ethanol. Probably

because there is just not that much ethanol in the amount of tincture I

am using.

It is more convenient for me than obtaining the plant materials and

extracting directly into DMSO although I think direct extraction into

DMSO would be better.
