Hello list serv members,

This list has been enormously helpful in communicating information regarding BBA

and all of its implications. Thank you everyone, for sharing your expertise so

freely.

I am writing this request representing the Section on Geriatrics. The Section

BOD continues to look for ways we can help our members respond appropriately to

the challenges of BBA and PPS in particular. Our members have requested help in

providing information to their patients regarding the $1500 cap and its

limitations and consequences.

I envision a letter that is drafted for the PT to give to the patient that

explains the cap and how it came into being, a place to indicate under the

current plan of care when they might reach the cap, and the patient's

alternatives. I also envision providing information to the patient on how they

can contact their legislators and other advocacy groups to express concerns

about this issue. I know many of you are using similar documents in a variety

of settings and wonder if you would share them with me. I will be happy to give

you credit, and post the final one(s) to this listserv for everyone's benefit.

It may be that several are drafted, appropriate to a variety of settings.

You may email an attachment me to me, or fax them to .

Thank you again for your help.
