Byt he way, homebirths are not scary...really! They are great, I wish I would

have had all of mine at home. Everything is sooo relaxed and it is easier to

have the baby this way, less pain.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough ''Hello's " to get you through the final goodbye.

I'm in the mountains, so I am quite a ways away from you. My OB didn't

really want me referring people to him either. He was worried about

people coming to him wanting him to be supportive of homebirth and then

sueing him or something. The few people that I did tell about him, I

told them to just go as a regular patient and then talk to him about the

possibility of homebirth. That way, he didn't have to go along with it

if he didn't know the person. I always had a hard time getting

appointments to start up with him each pregnancey because his staff would

give me a hard time saying they didn't know if he wanted to back me up or

not. With one of my pregnancies I had to talk to his wife (who I also

knew) and mention to her about it and she had the Dr. call me and tell me

it was o.k. and to tell his staff that! :-)

It seems like a lot of the OB's in our area (but not all!) are pretty

good about being flexible about what tests, etc. that you do, but of

course, they do have a hard time overcoming their interventionist

training at times, too.
