Guest guest
I've started taking baclofen, and it does seem to be helping with the spasticity. However, I've been doing some research on it, and it seems that withdrawal from it can be a problem, which concerns me, as I'm nervous about taking any drug that one must be weaned from. (This doen't appear to be an addiction issue, simply a physical dependency one - but I've been there before, and it's not a place I want to revisit. Besides, slow withdrawal is not an option if one suddenly becomes allergic, and since I do seem to develop allergies, it's something I consider.) It also seems that one is likely to develop a tolerance to it, which means that, over time, it would become ineffective. Zanaflex, on the other hand, seems not to have such negatives - at least, as far as the documentation I've seen - but is a newer drug, and thus the negatives may not yet be well known. Does anyone have any personal info or experience or documentation that might be helpful to me in determining whether I should give Zanaflex a try? (I'm pretty certain my new neurologist will let me try it if I ask.) -- Heidi
