Hello!!

You just described how your suffering from a huge sinus infection-

You keep describing how you have major sinus issues, you then say you

have NO INFECTION in your sinuses. I could be wrong, but a billion

bacteria in and around the region would qualify in my book for a HUGE

SINUS INFECTION- that ain't being delt with appropriately..

Look up the fda's recommendation of NO ANTIBIOTICS for EAR

INFECTIONS..BAsically doctors are failing to clear ear infections

90percent of the time with there approach and choice of

antiobiotics...you just joined that club..

Avelox ain't going to touch any bacteria residing in your facial

bones.quinolones don't touch bony structure infections.

I just gave some facts!!!!!!!!!!!If your given a pathetic course of

antibiotics, your made to believe(abra cadabra)-see you have no

infection!!!...

The facts are the dickheads prescribing the antibiotics have been told

your so pathetic at clearing infections don't prescribe them!!!!If

that's ranting, maybe we shopuld tell this poor girl your infection

has cleared and your just imaging all the pain and pressure your

experiencing..

I think your braindead by the way!!!

Hello,How many other symptoms do you have?  Do you have other Lyme related symptoms?  Sinus problems are very common in Lyme disease.  My husband has been dealing with this on and off for over 5 years now and he has the identical pain you describe. He's been on long term abx for a suspected dental infection, and this seems to be helping.I'm afraid the only true pain relief available to you will be narcotic, and you may want to ask your doctor for something more "long acting" like oxycontin, or something different like Tramadol, which is good for dental pain.Find a relative, friend or someone strong to help you get the results you need from your doctors.  Don't take no for an

answer.Good luck!MFrom: shewholaughslives <wolfereagan@...>infections Sent: Saturday, February 7, 2009 6:41:18 PMSubject: [infections] At the end of my ability to cope!

Hi:

I think I have Lyme and I have interstitial cystitis and am brand new here.

I have a history of recurrent sinus infections, though not chronic. I get them, they go away

and then I am fine until my next one. I went 8 months before this last one.

My last infection early december cleared up with Augementin for14 days, but I continued

to have the most insane sinus pain, pressure, facial pressure, tooth pain etc even though

there was no mucous.

The ENT did CT Scan and saw nothing, though at that point he had put me on Prednisone

and I don't know that inflammation would have shown up due to being on day 4 of

Prednisone. It was a 9 day course or Prednisone starting at 60 mg and tapering down. I

was up for 7 nights, ended up in the ER and had to stop it. It didn't help much either, the

first few days the sinus pain resolved, but as I tapered down, the pain came back even

worse. Since the Prednisone I have had a lot more tooth pain from the sinuses.

Since then, I have had another sinus infection which I am on Avelox for. I am in DIRE pain

still. The mucous is now clear, but still sticky and hard to blow out. I have KILLER sinus

pain and pressure, behind the eyes, above the eyes, bridge of the nose, cheeks and

TOOTH PAIN. When I lay down, as soon as I lay down, all my teeth have a feeling of

pressure and by middle of the night the upper molars all ache. I have been dealing with

this now for 2 months of nonstop dire pain!

I was referred to a neurologist and had a brain MRI which was normal. The ENT just did a

nasal swab to culture for fungus. The pain is 24/7. I have no more infection, morning

congestion, but nonstop insane face pain/pressure which I KNOW is from sinuses.

I suspect I have Lyme though I never have had a definite positive result through IGENEX. I

have a C4a level of 9000 if you know what that is and my IGM immunoglobulin is always a

bit elevated.

I want to die from this pain, but I have two little children and really what I want is release

from my suffering, not so much to die of course. I cry all the time and am severely

depressed because of the pain in the sinuses.

Does ANYBODY have any ideas of what I could do from here? The neurologist said to take

Neurontin incase the Trigeminal Nerve is irritated from all the inflammation since this

nerve does go into the sinuses, teeth etc. I really don't like the side effect profile of this

drug. I have percoset for pain, but it make me feel sick to my stomach, plus I hate to take

it since it is a narcotic. I have done all the saline, neti pots, neilmed rinses one can

imagine, I have tried decongestants etcetcetc.

What I am dealing with is chronic sinus inflammation in the absence of infection and with

a normal CT sinus scan.

I can't go on much more with this pain and condition.

Can anybody think of anything that might help? My LLMD wants to put me on Low Does

Naltrexone and ordered it from a compound pharmacy.

Please help!
