Hi Rich,

I was hoping you would post here about that paper, because I value the comments

of

people on this list. I agree--the study is one of the best to come along in a

long time.

For one thing, they claim that the " ATP profile " test can differentiate

between:

1) patients who have fatigue and other symptoms as a result of energy wastage by

stress

and other psychological factors and

2) those who have insufficient energy due to cellular respiration dysfunction.

I have found over the years that most people and most doctors believe that #2

does not

exist, and that only #1 has validity. Most of the research money has gone to

#1. So sad.

Another thing I like about the paper is that they measure function with the Bell

Ability

Scale. Dr. Bell developed this scale because he was frustrated by the failure

of all the

available psychological tests that claimed to measure function, but didn't. A

summary of

his scale is here: http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/4225/drbell.html

I see that the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Medicine is an

online

journal. Do you think that most doctors will disparage the study's findings

because it's

not published in paper print?

I would really like to see people with chronic Lyme Disease use this test also,

if post-

exertional fatigue is one of their symptoms.

Sue B.
