I want to thank everyone who is a part of and contributes to this group

for taking the time to be here.

I just found out that I lost my Health Insurance today, which means I

have to stop seeing my Therapist and Doctor because I can't afford it on

my own. I just barely make more than what would allow me to continue

getting my Health Insurance!?

I'm feeling down right now, and I needed something to cheer me up, so I

just wanted to thank all of you for being here. I'm working on putting

some of the skills I've learned in therapy to not let my depression

right now get the worst of me.

On a better note, one good thing I learned is that a friend of mine told

me that she got disability mainly on the case of being afflicted with

Hyperacusis for the last 2 1/2 years. It took her 3 or 4 years with a

lawyer to finally make that happen, but in the end it worked out for her.

I'm going to meet with the same lawyer next week and see if he'll take

my case, because I've been denied twice now. I'll certainly let you all

know how it goes either way.

Thanks again for being here in this group. I do appreciate it,

Randall

Im sorry to read that Randall,

Good luck with the lawyers I hope it works out for you and a lot

quicker then 4 years, its good to see that you are still in a frame of mind

where you want to apply the things you have learned, that shows true character

and strength, well done.

Warm Regards

Rich

Loosing your health insurance is soooo scary. I don't know what state

you live in, but I live in CA and when I did not have health

insurance I was able to go to Los Angeles County Mental Health and

receive mental health services for free. I saw a psychiatrist,

therapist and got my meds (psych) for free. Maybe your county has

something similar and you could continue to receive therapy, etc.??

One major mistake that I made while not having health insurance was

not knowing the price differences between hospitals in the area when

I did have to go into the ER. I had to go in the ER three times when

we had no insurance and some hopitals charged double or triple what

other hospitals did. You might want to research ahead of time which

hospital you should go to in case of emergency that is not going to

charge you and inflated price.

I wish you all the luck in the world!!! I am sorry that you are going

through this. The journey of life is long and there always seems to

be something that can be learned from every event, I know it is hard

to imagine now, but in the future this experience may shape you in an

important way! Keep the faith!
