Guest guest
I wonder if you might really have an absorption problem, Nelly? You might recall I had instantaneous correction of muscle fasciculations (twitches) with IV " Meyer's drip " (which contains Mg), but I had never noticed an effect on the twitching from taking oral Mg. Unfortunately, I don't remember for certain what form the oral Mg was, or whether I took it with food, etc. I went over that in detail in message #7908. I also commented on a few abstracts on Mg deficiency in CFS (the literature is inconclusive. In Eby/Eby's paper, found at http://george-eby-research.com/html/magnesium-for-depression.pdf reference 16 (Shealy et al) is supposed to have info on a scheme for skin absorption of Mg. The link there to Shealy is broken. However I tracked down the uptdated URL which is http://george-eby-research.com/html/shealy13.html Unfortunately I didn't see anything in the Shealy about transdermal Mg. I did go through it really rapidly - coulda missed it. > > Dear Nelly > The usual laxative dose for mag sulphate is 10s of grams so gram doses would be expected to have minimal laxative effect. Apparently simple magnesium compounds are laxative in inverse proportion to their solubility, from this mag chloride would appear to be the best (all magnesium compounds equilibrate as chlorides in the stomach anyway). > It looks as if you have more sensitivity than most. > R
