Guest guest
Subj: a REALLY BIG favor!!! Hello friends and family! A few months ago, Dr. Oz, who is a regularly featured guest on oprah’s show, watched the Lyme documentary “Under Our Skinâ€. He said that he was incredibly moved by it, and energized about getting the information out to the public. We have found out thru a contact at the show, that the producers are considering airing an episode focused on this topic for THIS WEEK! We need for as many people as possible to post your thoughts and desire to see an educational show focused on this topic. Here’s instructions: If you are not a member of the Oprah community, you will need to sign up first:click on this link to sign up:https://www.oprah.com/mbr/mbr_new_profile.jsp Once you have filled out the appropriate info -- easy stuff, name, username, email address, birth year -- then you will get an email to your email address: You'll get an email from Oprah's web people sending you an activation link that you will need to click on in order to get started. Then you can click on the above link and post your comments. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE post your comments!!! There is a possible show topic on toilet paper that is in competition with our topic! There are about an equal number of posts encouraging a show on that topic vs. the Lyme topic. This is a travesty! Please do it for me and others with the disease, and others who we might save from getting a chronic form of the disease if they are given the correct information about it!! I’m embarrassed to do this, but I’ve provided you guys a template/example of a letter you can use to post to save you all time and trouble. It’s only a template, so say whatever you want, and change whatever you want. I’m only providing it because I know if one of you asked me to send one, I would procrastinate because I always find writing up a letter or opinion daunting: Dear Dr. Oz, Oprah and staff: My name is _________, and I have a friend/sister/daughter/cousin, who has had a chronic form of Lyme disease for 7 years now. I was very, very excited to hear that you are considering airing a show on this topic. I wish I could tell every US citizen about this disease and what it can do if it’s not diagnosed promptly, and treated with antibiotics to save them from the level of suffering that I have had to watch my friend/loved one endure. By the time my friend/loved one was diagnosed, she had lost 20 pounds, was in constant 24 hour head and neck pain, with incredible fatigue, light sensitivity, memory problems, malaise, and off and on low grade fevers and night sweats. It took seeing many doctor’s before she found one that was educated about Lyme disease and tested her for it. Once she was put on antibiotics, all of her symptoms improved dramatically. Her quality of life is quite good now, but she has had to remain on low dose antibiotics to keep her symptoms at bay, and some symptoms continue in a very low grade way despite the medication. Several attempts to stop the antibiotics have resulted in a painful relapse. The economic cost of the disease has been staggering for she and her husband. Because she had to go on disability, they lost the income they had when she was able to hold a full-time professional job. The ongoing costs of the medical treatment and medications she requires are enormous. And, from the stories she has told of other patients with the disease, hers is a common story, with some much, much worse. Please air a show on this topic. You will be able to save many, many people from suffering. Thank you, _________________ Windows Liveâ„¢: Life without walls. Check it out. = Worried about job security?
