Guest guest
Dear Sharon, We can all appreciate how worried you must be about Damian's upcoming surgery. And I know how frustrating it is to have a child who is making great developmental strides, only to face a new medication or medical procedure that may cause a step backward. However, I agree with the mom who said that our kids are strong. In fact, each time Teddy has been hospitalized, he has developed a new motor skill while he was there! Maybe it's because he's been confined to a crib, or maybe it's just a coincidence. But I do believe you can't keep our kids down; they just keep trying and pushing themselves because they want to be a part of the world around them. I will be praying for you and your family, but I am confident that Damian will not only do well with his surgery, but will continue to progress developmentally in spite of it. Meg in PA, mom of Teddy, 14 mos., bilateral perisylvian polymicrogyria, g/j-tube, non-oral feeder, rolls, commando crawls, pulls to kneeling, and hopefully will crawl soon
