It has been proved beyond doubt by a world renowned neurologist and noble prize winner Sir Eccles, mind and brain are two different entities. A world renowned American psychiatrist Sir Breggin has concluded in his thirty years of his experience by publicly expressing his view 'Mind cannot be treated by drugs or electroconvulsive therapy. These are brain damaging measures. They cause enumerable irreversible adverse effects like tardive dyskinesia, akathesia, dystonia, suicide and violence ……..sometimes life threatening complications like neuroleptic malignant syndrome half of the affected people die. It's criminal to ruin their life in totality. It is our duty to empower so called mentally disabled'. According to him; they have common, sometimes serious adverse effects on brain and heart. Heart can be damaged irreversibly and could be potentially dangerous. Few of the references of imminent Neuroscientific studies are as follows: 1. American study on adverse effects on Antipsychotic drugs by R. breggin 1.1 ' overall impact of Antipsychotic drugs is CHEMICAL LOBOTOMY literally means chemical destruction of brain. The patients becomes de-energerise and or de-innervated (Breggin 1983,1991).' 1.2 'If the neuroleptic are so dangerous and have such limited usefulness and if the psychosocial approaches are relatively effective, why is the profession is so devoted to drugs. The answer lies in maintaining psychiatric power, prestige and income.' 1.3 If the neuroleptics were used to treat anyone other than mental patients, they would have been banned a long time ago.' 1.4 ' Neuroleptics have produced the worst epidemic of neurological disease in history.' 1.5 ' It is dangerous not only to start taking Antipsychotic drugs but also hazardous to stop taking them. When trying to withdraw these drugs, these can develop serious and life-threatening emotional and physical reaction.' 2. Psychiatric drugs : CURE OR QUACKERY? By Lawrence s. 2.1 'Antipsychotic drugs are highly neurotoxic and brain disabling and achieve their impact through the disruption of normal brain function.' (ref: psychiatric drugs hazardous to the brain.) 2.2 According to feb.1992 News week " Four countries have banned the drugs outright " In one clinical trial 75% of persons taking Halcion develop memory loss, depression and paronoia. 2.3 'Antipsychotic drugs dehumanize, disable and kill the person.' 2.4 'Nothing has harmed quality of individual life in modern society more than misforgotten belief that human suffering is driven by biological and genetic causes can be rectifited by taking drugs or undergoing electroshock therapy.' 2.5 'If I wanted to ruin somebody's life , I will convince the person that biological psychiatry is right that relationship means nothing, that choice is impossible and that the mechanics of broken brain reign over our emotions and conduct. If I wanted to impair individual's capacity to create empathetic, loving relationship, I would prescribe psychiatric drugs, all of which blunt our highest psychological and spiritual functions. 2.6 All psychiatric drugs produces severe biochemical imbalances and related abnormality by interfering with normal brain function.
