Hi Everyone,

I first heard about similar approaches to sinus infections from Drs.Vrchota and Teitelbaum in a DVD following the October 2004 AACFS conference in Wisconsin. Vrchota specializes in CFS/ME/FM in MN and her website is karenvrchota.com. What I have from them is as follows:

Dr. Vrchota said, "When I found out that everyone from Weilto the Mayo Clinic was recommending nasal irrigation for chronicsinusitis, I said, 'Well, even though I hate water up my nose, maybe I should recommend it, and the patients really love it! It makestheir sinusitis go away." She said that another treatment that hasmade a huge difference is one that Dr. Teitelbaum developed withCape Apothecary. It consists of Sporonox 0.2% to kill the fungus, xylitol to keep the staph from clinging to the mucous membranes,Bactroban, Beclamethasone and Nystatin. She said that as a resultof using these treatments, she doesn't have any patients withsinusitis anymore--not any.

Dr. Tietelbaum recommends the following three treatments for *Chronic & Acute Sinusitis:** *Sinusitis Nose Spray (Rx)* - By prescription from Cape Drug (800-248-5978). Contains Sporanox, Xylitol, Bactroban, Beclamethasone and Nystatin. Use 1-2 sprays in each nostril twice a day for 6-12 weeks. If it irritates the nose, use nasal saline spray just before using the prescription. Use with silver spray below.* *Nasal silver spray*-5-10 sprays in each nostril three times a day for 7-14 days until the sinusitis resolves (from www.EndFatigue.com <http://www.EndFatigue.com>. Wholesale from www.natural-immunogenics.com <http://www.natural-immunogenics.com> or 888-328-8840)*Nasal Irrigation (Rx)* - Get 1 liter of normal saline with 100mg Amphotericin B and a second liter with 80mg gentamycin. Use 1 ounce of each in each nostril as anasal rinse twice a day as needed.

Yeah, unfortunately that's exactly the info I've got on my sheet. No ml/mg etc. I'll see if I can get anymore info from people I know. Otherwise it will be the next time I talk to the pharmacist. And yes, I do believe there's been stuff written up about this spray (or similar combos) but I don't recall where I saw them. I'd just try doing some googling with some of the key words. Maybe also try fungal infection sinus spray, stanford sinus infection spray, things like that. I'll dig around too.good luck!penny

Thanks, Tim. That's cool to see that other people are having success.

Remarkable (100%) success in Vrchota's case.

The weirdest thing to me is that I never had chronic sinusitis

symptoms. If I hadn't had CT scans done for my jaw infection, I'd

never have known there was sinus disease involved. Not one doctor

ever suggested it because the symptoms weren't there. I personally am

convinced that hidden dental and sinus infections (with any variety

of bugs) are what's making a lot of people sick but unfortunately no

one ever thinks to look or treat for them.
