a week and then it multiplied other area's of inflammation for the rest of the

month...I think people that have been long term users of these drugs are

disabled by these rediculous drugs..

I am sorry to read that your son is having this terrible pain, Annette. My 22

yr old son has headaches and stiff neck pain related to Lyme and his other tick

borne infections. He would average 3 per week. He takes Aleve and Hydrocodone

for the pain. Bicillin IM, Mepron and Zithromax combination helped stop the

headaches.

Have you read much about the Autism/Lyme connection they are discovering?

I hope that you are able to find out the cause and he is feeling better soon.

I tend to think when your giving someone advice about a drug therapy that for

the last three years has been proven to be a disaster and everyone is jumping

off the bandwagon, you need some idiot like me to come forward and air the

disasters that the whole thing involved...

You also don't like my no-nonsense, direct approach- yet I'm the guy doing all

the science on every aspect of whatever anyone asked of me..Not to mention I

hardly participate due to getting back to work and back to normal. I only post

occasionally because I get bored wheeling and dealing on-line and then for a

change of scenery check what's going on in this world which is dominatedby

smoke and mirrors Bs

What kinds of testing have your son's doctors done?

Does your son have a neurologist? Has he had any dental infections or invasive

dental or sinus procedures performed?

If I were you, I'd do some research on ICH (intracranial hypertension also known

as pseudotumor cerebri, or idiopathic intracranial hypertension).

Diagnostics for this are usually imaging and lumbar puncture. If it is ICH,

sometimes just the puncture itself relieves the headaches. If that happens then

the diagnosis is pretty clear.

Unfortunately, the causes of ICH are not always so clear. Some of us with

chronic infections believe that ICH is another symtpom of our infections. I have

both sinus and jaw infections and I have experienced migraines on a daily basis

(until finding some relief through a neurologist and headache center). Other

people with jaw infections experience chronic, severe jaw, face and head pain.

As for Olmesartan, which was recommended in another post: I used olmesartan

(benicar) experimentally for quite a while and the first thing I noticed was a

relief of head pressure. Unfortunately, that did not last, and I believe that

the olmesartan caused more problems than it seemed to relieve in my case. I

would not recommend this drug for uses other than what it was developed (high

blood pressure) until more research is done. I don't think the risk is worth it.

In my experience only about half the people who try it find any relief anyway,

and many actually get a lot sicker (or die) but those don't get publicized as

much on the official protocol forums due to censorship. Also, if you read back a

few messages on this forum, you'll see that a doctor who's been prescribing the

experimental protocol regularly (known as the Marshall Protocol)is now being

investigated by the Medical board (due to patient complaints) and faces

professional disciplinary measures. She could lose her license.

If it were me, I'd get my son to a neurologist asap. Rule out any life

threatening conditions and then start researching ICH, as well as Chronic Sinus

and Jaw infections. There's a lot on this forum alone, as well as some good

forums out there for ICH and Pseudotumor Cerebri. The jaw infection forums I'd

be very cautious about, especially any that promote NICO (one of the foremost

Nico dentists, Dr. Shankland, had his license suspended for 6 mos. due to poor

treatment procedures).

Whatever you do, if you feel that a jaw or sinus infection is involved, do a lot

of research and get second opinons before taking any kind of invasive or

surgical action. There are doctors out there doing procedures that in my

experience end up spreading the infections rather than limiting them.

I've had surgeries that have not helped, and know a lot of other people with

similar results. The only treatments that I can say have definitely helped my

infections somewhat, are long term anti-microbials.

I hope your son finds relief soon.

Again you stick your head in the sand..How can you possably post on this forum

the benefits of a failed therapy/protocol! Where have you been for the past

three years..I had the flu last week and it was absolutely normal, under

someones protocol while taking those stupid drugs, my last two flu's while on

the therapy made me feel like I was being thrashed to within an inch of my life.

Also I was surprisingly picking up more than my fare share of these virus's..

Also I don't come on here like a messiah claiming to be able to fix all with a

single handed approach..I come here and say look at what your dealing with and

treat it accordingly, DON " T GUESS..Treating appropriately is why medicine

created the 100 or so antimicrobials/antifungals in there arsenal.

Benicar may well tame inflammation for some people, but I'm afraid it comes with a price. I hadn't had a cold or flu in years until I started Benicar. Later after steroid treatment, I had another flu which turned into pneumonia. While steroids may be worse than Benicar (we really don't know that yet), they do have some similarities. They both suppress the immune system (inflammation) which potentially gives infections an opportunity to grow. Until we know a whole lot more about Benicar and its long term effects, caution is the best policy, IMO.

Finding less harmful methods to dampen inflammatory symptoms is vital. There are a lot of natural substances out there that have anti-inflammatory effects. If a person can take aspirin or ibuprofen, I'd start there, because they do a great job of calming inflammation. Unfortunately, some of us can't take those substances. That's where the experimenting with substances like Benicar came in for me. I truly wish I could take aspirin. If you've got the stomach for it, it has way fewer side effects and does a good job. Ask Barb, who pretty much cured herself. Large doses of ibuprofen was a big part of her regimen which included antimicrobials (pharmaceutical and natural, like coconut oil), digestive enzymes and electrolyte balancing.

Tony, I know that you went through intensive and highly experimental antimicrobial treatments based on your own microbe testing (I really don't think I'd even be typing this right now if I hadn't listened to you about infection being the cause of CFS), but did you use anything like high dosage aspirin for your severe pain? I don't think I've ever asked you that. Or did it all come down to the antimicrobials for you?

aspirin is something I try to use heaps of now..I see these substances as only

working when they act as antimicrobials against your bacterial hanger on er

er's(bugs growing inside and outside of you)..Basically whenever I remember I'll

buy a good brand of aspirin, as the fillers of some brands can give you allergy

type irritations.I then tend to use them in high amounts hoping they break thru

all the toxic, crusty build up's inside your body..This in my opinion is an

anti cancer approach to health management.

I also feel that a long dip in the ocean can prove beneficial for calming

inflammation.I just think the water cools the blood and does a great job

resetting things to where they function best.

Olmesartan works by blocking receptors for

angiotensin …

angiotensin [a hormone or cytokine depending where you get your

information

from] promotes inflammation …the bugs up

regulate the angiotensin receptors … the resulting inflammation hides

the bugs

from the immune system .. the same thing happens in the progression of

cancer….cancer

cells promote angiotensin in the same way …

Blocking the effect therefore removes a constraint

on the

immune system not as you say suppresses the immune system.

Steroid therapy is introducing hormones into the

body ..the

exact opposite of blocking a hormones effect .Steroid therapy is

notorious for downgrading

the immune system .

Have you considered that the effect you describe

“flu” could

be the bodies defences acting against bugs you were hosting but not

mounting an

The

critical role of

inappropriate inflammation is becoming accepted in many diseases that

affect

man, including cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory and autoimmune

disorders,

neurodegenerative conditions, infection and cancer.This review proposes

that

cancer up-regulates the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor through

systemic

oxidative stress and hypoxia mechanisms, thereby triggering chronic

inflammatory processes to remodel surrounding tissue and subdue the

immune

system. Based on current literature and clinical studies on angiotensin

receptor inhibitors, the paper concludes that blockade of the AT1

receptor in

synergy with cancer vaccines and anti-inflammatory agents should offer

a

therapy to regress most, if not all, solid tumours. With regard to

cancer being

a systemic disease, an examination of supporting evidence for a

systemic role

of AT1 in relationship to inflammation in disease and injury is

presented as a

logical progression. The evidence suggests that regulation of the

mutually

antagonistic angiotensin II receptors (AT1 and AT2) is an essential

process in

the management of inflammation and wound recovery, and that it is an

imbalance

in the expression of these receptors that leads to disease. In

consideration of

cancer induced immune suppression, it is further postulated that the

inflammation associated with bacterial and viral infections, is also an

means of immune suppression by these pathogens and that the damage

like coconut oil), digestive enzymes and electrolyte balancing.

Tony, I know that you went through intensive and highly

experimental antimicrobial treatments based on your own microbe testing

(I really don't think I'd even be typing this right now if I hadn't

listened to you about infection being the cause of CFS), but did you

use anything like high dosage aspirin for your severe pain? I don't

think I've ever asked you that. Or did it all come down to the

antimicrobials for you?

Again you stick your head in the sand..How can you possably post on

this forum the benefits of a failed therapy/protocol! Where have you

been for the past three years..I had the flu last week and it was

absolutely normal, under someones protocol while taking those stupid

drugs, my last two flu's while on the therapy made me feel like I was

being thrashed to within an inch of my life. Also I was surprisingly

picking up more than my fare share of these virus's..

Also I don't come on here like a messiah claiming to be able to fix all

with a single handed approach..I come here and say look at what your

dealing with and treat it accordingly, DON"T GUESS..Treating

appropriately is why medicine created the 100 or so antimicrobials/

antifungals in there arsenal.
