Guest guest
>> > ,> Thanks for the 411... how do you inject it, do you have an autoinjector?Hi, ~I use a 3ml 25G1 syringe. I draw up a 1/2ml of the Lidocaine, then draw up the magnesium. This link (although is about breast cancer) has an excellent muscular injection chart on the areas used. The injection is about 2.5ml, so you need large muscles. That would be the Dorsogluteal or the Ventrogluteal. Scroll down to page 4 of the PDF to see a chart with these areas.http://www.breastcancerprofessional.com/contents/public/onc/nursing.pdf If using the correct area, you will not inject it IV. And I aspirate before pushing on the plunger just to make sure I am in the muscle. The Magnesium would not be a problem, not sure about that amount of Lidocaine. The biggest thing is not to hit the Sciatic nerve. You can see it in the diagram on the Dorsogluteal area. So I stay away from the middle and lower area of that muscle. The only site I can't reach well is the Dorsogluteal on the left. I have done it but it is awkward. So my husband gives me those when the rotation comes to that site. I rotate the sites to prevent scarring and irritation.Correct, I do not tolerate Magnesium orally. Weak stomach. Hope this helps,
Guest guest
Hi , I go to a holistic doc and get IV, in the amounts of a push, but it is dripped from a sterile water bottle instead, (ie small amounts, as opposed to what some folks get), Vit C, b5, b6, mag and calcium. I get the calcium just to balance the mag, but I feel it is the b's and the mag that really help. Then I get a glutathione in sterile water after that. The line has the capacity to switch IV's like that (it's got a sort of " Y " at the bottom near insertion, and you can switch off one IV and turn on the other). I did do IM magnesium sulfate in my butt sometimes but 1) as I said I tolerate chloride better and 2) it hurt. I really didn't like it. I also wasn't getting the B vitamins in the mix and they potentiate the healing effect. You need to be taught correctly as you surmise. If you butt stick yourself, you need to pull out the syringe slightly to be sure you didn't hit a blood vessel. You could cause a problem injecting magnesium directly into the blood in concentrated form. > > > > I have done mag sulfate injections for about 4 years now. Guest guest
PS Sorry I missed two points I wanted to make. 1) What I mean is, yes you're right, it could go into a blood vessel, and law of large #'s if you self inject a lot, greater risk. You swab down the area with alcohol, you have to be taught very sterile techniques for injection, a luer-lock I think? syringe, you open a single use vial, swab down the rubber dam with alcohol, put in a heavy guage syringe, withdraw the liquid, take off that syringe top and put a thin one on, then hold it upright and make sure there is no air by squeeing it a bit until a drop comes out the tip, swab your butt, push down on either side of the area you intend to inject (with two fingers) and with the needle against your skinw hen you let go it will stick in, push it in, then withdraw the syringe slightly to be sure no blood comes out. If no blood you're in muscle or fat and you inject slowly. That's something you should be taught in person by your doctor and demonstrate yourself you learned the technique well. For oral--it just does little for me. > > > , > Thanks for the 411... how do you inject it, do you have an autoinjector? > > How bout you Jill, you IV it yourself, nein? > > Are the IM preparations going to be non-dangerous if you accidentally > IV it while trying to IM it?
