I think it is the fibro causing it...and perhaps mcs and food allergies too.. What can I take as far as vitamins or herbs for inflamation to stop this urgency to urinate, burning in the pelvic area ? I can not concentrate above the discomfort.. I do not take pain meds due to having mcs...illness.. I am taking flaxseed oil, fish oil, magnesium, and probiotics daily... along with a a multi, calcium. I have heard of an antioxidant called pycenol, spelled wrong.. pine bark of a french tree? Will that stop the inflamation on the bladder and pelvic area? I appreciate your thoughts.. I have stopped drinking tea, and rarely drink a cola and never drink orange juice or eat citrus fruit..Strawberries irritate my bladder I noticed that years ago and do not eat them.. I have some milder symptoms that you have. I have Lyme and Babesiosis. I found that my symptoms improved while taking Ceftin for the Lyme. Then after my course of Ceftin I took Diflucan for 3 weeks to clear up yeast. My symptoms improved further. So for my experience, I found antibiotics and antifungals improved my symptoms. But you wanted a supplement. My physician did not want me using Diflucan for keeping yeast suppressed while continuing on Ceftin, so he recommended a Metagenics product called CandiBactin-BR. There is also a CandiBactin-AR but it has Oregano oil in it. Although oregano oil is good as an antimicrobial, I hated burping it all day long! So he switched me to the BR. It has Coptis Root in it which is also supposed to be an antimicrobial. I have not tried the BR yet, but just wanted to let you know that these may be an option. His treatment helped me quite a bit, but lately I have had some flares. I most likely have IC. Something that has helped me for the pain is Quercetin w/ Bromelain. I also use Prelief that helps. I just read on one of the IC boards that some people are greatly helped with their pain that use Glucosamine w/ MSM (no chrondoitein) along with the Quercitin and felt a great amount of relief in about a month. I'm really sorry for your pain. I'm going to buy the glucosamine/msm and see how it will work for me. I also wonder about going back on oral antibiotics because they have sometimes helped me. Good luck and keep in touch and let me know if anything has helped you. tte > Hi, > I have fibromyalgia, cfs and mcs and also Dystonia, and IBS > my question is this.. > I have developed a severe irritable bladder along with a sore colon area in the pelvic region...It mimics IC..but I have not been diagnosed with IC and over a 20 year period had tests looking for that.. > I think it is the fibro causing it...and perhaps mcs and food allergies too.. > What can I take as far as vitamins or herbs for inflamation to stop > this urgency to urinate, burning in the pelvic area ? > I can not concentrate above the discomfort.. > > I do not take pain meds due to having mcs...illness.. > > I am taking flaxseed oil, fish oil, magnesium, and probiotics daily... > along with a a multi, calcium. > I have heard of an antioxidant called pycenol, spelled wrong.. > pine bark of a french tree? Guest guest
yes, there's some evidence that quercetin can help inflammation. I suppose it depends on the individual. There are a number of of tree barks that indigenous people have used, which seem to work in similar ways as aspirin. Perhaps some of them are easier on the stomach. I tried one, but can't remember what it was, and I didn't stick with it so can't report any positive results. But it's worth doing a search on the internet, because those tree bark medicines seem pretty potent. If aspirin products didn't irritate my stomach so horribly, I'd take it (or ibuprofen) because it has a lot of good qualities that fight not only inflammation but harmful organisms, by thinning the blood so that it can't get to the bugs, etc. I've just recently started a supplement my integrative med. doc started me on. It's Zyflmamend by NewMark and is pharmaceutical grade. I haven't taken it long enough to know for sure but it seems promising. the ingredients include; rosemary, tumeric, ginger, holy basil, green tea, Hu Zhang, chinese gold thread, barberry, oregano, baikal skullcap. The good thing about supplements rated "pharmaceutical grade" is that they've been tested and must meet certain quality standards. Some of the stuff on the market isn't what it claims to be and so we may mistakenly decide against something based on lack of result when the product wasn't up to par. There are lots of those out there, unfortuantely. penny From: juliette03@... <juliette03@...>Subject: [infections] Re: New Member ask about Inflamationinfections Date: Sunday, May 10, 2009, 1:29 PM >sheri,i saw a homeopathic physician at the onset of my IC. i didn't have a great experience with the homeopathic route. maybe it will work for you, but it's something that i won't be trying again. a do think that omega threes help with inflammation. i heard that the quercitin helps the inflammation and that the glucosamine helps the bladder lining.i haven't really heard of belladona, and i'm sorry but i don't remember the homeopathic remedies that i took (it was almost two years ago)good luck!juliette> tte> I do think that taking the omega threes helps with inflamation. .> three times a day> > I have just read about Belladona for pelvic pain..> Anyone used it and what do you think of it for pain...> I take 5htp daily but that is all other than omegas> and vitamins..> > I looked up Willow bark but that does not seem as safe> more like asprin and Nsaids..on the intestines etc..> > So anyone out there can tell me about Belladona for pelvic> pain, urinary, colon any area of the pelvic?> > thanks> sheri>
