Yeah, in theory I wouldn't touch a lot of these drugs either. But when it's a choice between the risk and some kind of life or no life at all, the risk looks pretty worth it.

Rich Van K posted some info at on Cipro/flouro' s and papers that show that they deplete glutathione, and that's possibly part of what causes the ruptures. I probably need his permission to repost his message here, but if you go to , it's message # #124076.Personally, I wouldn't touch 'em with a ten foot pole, but everyone has to make their own choices. I would like to point out however that one needn't be athletic at all to suffer sudden, spontaneous tendon ruptures. I've read reports of people having rupture problems just getting up from a chair. But maybe -- maybe -- glutathione would help? Take care,Dan>> I made a conscious decision to risk tendon damage

Dear Dan

I blew one while running with my kids one day

The next one was 12 months to the day and it went as I stepped out the door, no strain on it at all.

Yeah, that's one thing we should all reserve the rights for, to change our minds at any time. Heck, I'm going to see an immunologist to see if he can give me a boost to help fight this thing, and as everyone who knows me knows, I don't blame the immune system for this mess we're in at all. I blame the bugs...AND the medical field for turning these little guys into bigger monsters every day.

I understand we all have our different paths, and choices. I guess I'm just so sick of being as sick and disabled as I am, that if I ruptured a tendon in my knee or foot or anywhere, I'd be so much more disabled...that that wouldn't hypothetically be "living" to me. I'd rather be at peace. Maybe I've been oversensitized to the horror stories, so I reserve the right to change my mind, but for right now, I have "no cipro-related abx" written on my medicaid card.d.> >> > I made a conscious decision to risk tendon damage because I need the > > cipro more (until I can find something better).
