So....I am new to the group and haven't had much time to read through

many posts, but here is a brief summary of my story. I am 30 years

old, and have had 4S since I was 12 or younger. Trigger was my

father, my condition is EXTREMELY worse when I am worried or stressed,

and has been severe enough that I really can't stand eating most of

the time. I dread that I am creating a condition in my kids by making

them aware of chewing noises, because my brother definitely had 4S

first (whether he caused me to have it or I would've anyway).

I was a medical student for 2 years and left the MD program because I

didn't agree with the way health and disease are approached in western

medicine. I am now a naturopathic medical student (to be an ND) and

have read a lot on homeopathy. So I am going to see one of the top

homeopaths to see if it helps. I really feel that it has the

potential to help me live my life without being bothered by these

noises, so we will see. I will keep you posted.

Thanks to all who input stories of their lives here. :)

Hi . Welcome to the group! Your story mimics my own... age

12, father as first trigger. I too get worse when stressed or

worried which is everyday because this 4S makes me stressed and

worried! LOL. Don't worry too much about " creating " this conditon

for your kids... I'm not sure that's possible. It's one thing to be

made more aware of people's chewing noises, but it's another to react

with complete rage like we do. Chances are, your kids will just

learn to be " polite eaters " (chew with mouth closed) and expect

others to be the same way. The difference is that I still get angry

when people chew politely with their mouths closed because I can

still hear it.

I think it's great you are a naturopathic medical student... maybe

you can help us all out down the road! Be sure to let us know how

your visit with the doctor goes. Good luck!

Welcome to the group! I was very interested in reading that you are

studying and possibly getting treatment in homeopathy. I've always

preferred and sought out the natural approach, concentrating my own

treatment around herbal medicine or holistic type regimens. I'm glad

you're part of our group and hope to hear more from you!
