Guest guest
I saw a request for updates a while back. I finally have some free time, so here's what I've been wanting to share with you. Background: My daughter was severely constipated ever since she started solids as a baby (around 5 months old or so). She was on Miralax from age 18 months until 4 ½ years old. She did not appear to have any negative reactions to Miralax. I really feel that putting her on Miralax was the right thing to do for us – my gut felt really, really good about it. I still feel really good that we started her on it. Her biological makeup must protect her from the negative reactions that some people have. Around the spring of 2005, when she was 4, my gut started telling me to really try to get her off Miralax. We tried supplements and food elimination diets, and eventually found out this past sping that she needs more thiamin (vitamin B-1) than most. When we gave her more thiamin, she able to stay off Miralax and eat starches again (which we had eliminated because without it she wasn't constipated and could be off Miralax. We later found that eating starch increases your body's need for thiamin, so it was exacerbating the problem). Everything was great for a while after we started supplementing for additional thiamin. Then, this summer, about 3 months after we started the additional supplementation, all of a sudden we started having problems again. For some reason, she needed more and more thiamin to get rid of thiamin deficiency symptoms. She went from needing 5 mg thiamin to 25+ mg. When her thiamin intake level exceeded her doctor's recommended max of 25mg, I pulled her off the extra thiamin and put her back on Miralax. Around this time, I heard of a energy healer in my area with an exceptional reputation. I got his book from Amazon.com (Born a Healer by Chunyi Lin) and was very impressed. I took my daughter to an energy healing session with him, and her constipation was gone after 1 treatment! The first session was 3 months ago, and she's been really great since. I still give her extra thiamin occasionally when she starts to get some symptoms, but she only seems to need about 5 mg or so. Master Lin has had some very impressive results and has clients from distant states come to see him. I met one woman who flies in from NY to see him in Minnesota because she has such great results with her baby with him. The success rate varies from person to person and condition to condition. My daughter's constipation cleared up right away, but some other issues she has are taking longer and are not nearly as responsive. So, right now we are doing really well, and I have the best wishes for all of you too. It's been wonderful to have this group and have the support of others who understand how tough chronic constipation is for our kids (and for the ones who love them and would do anything to help them). -
