Guest guest
Autumn is my neice she is four years old almost five. Dhe was diagnosed with polymicrogyria only weeks ago. We have always known something was wrong but doctors had no clue. until now. This is very frustrating but a relieving time for my whole family I am very close to my sisters child. The doctor tells us that she is not as severe as other cases of this disorder. but she is still a special needs child. severly. nothing seems to make sense right now. Autumn is able to walk with alot of physio she has glasses to help her see but she is registered with the canadian institute for the blind. and generally she can get the message across that she wants something food or drink. My sister has had a very hard time. last year she lost a child of only 3mths to another disease. Madison. I am from a small province of Canada called Newfoundland. It is the part not attached to the rest of Canada. medical information is not avail to her and she has no access to the internet. That is why I am here and not her if she could talk to you herself she would.. I am in nova scotia a different province. If she was here she would vent and offer support to you as you do with each other. My sister as all of you are is very stressed. As you all are aware it is a very hard job to raise a child who cannot convey their messages to you. Autumn may not seem to have the same issues as your children but her mother does. questions about the future plague her. I want to ask you to do something for me that would mean the world to her. If just one of you could write to her not electronically but regular mail i think it could mean the world to her. just to hear success stories or well wishes. I know that this is not something you do and if you do not want to that is fine she willnot know if there is any mail on the way as i will not mention this to her. But if you could please send a message to her telling her to hang in there and take each day as it comes I think that would be fantastic. I is different when someone in the same situation tells you to hang in there. We are her family and we love her but we do not know what exactly she is going through. You do. I will leave an address where she will get her mail. please write to her. Guest guest
Dear , I finally got a long letter off to your sister. I hope it helps. Just a thought...do you have a printer so that you can copy the group emails and give them to her? I am sure she and Autumn would benefit from reading the experiences of all of these other families. God Bless and keep you, Mylo ('s grma) P.S. If you do not have a printer, let me know and I will make copies of the more positive, encouraging ones and mail them to her. If all of our members would like to send her a short note I would be happy to copy and send them. >From: angelanoseworthy@... >Reply-To: polymicrogyriaegroups >To: polymicrogyriaegroups >Subject: Autumn >Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2000 12:46:23 -0000 > >Autumn is my neice she is four years old almost five.
