My friend saw it on Night Line. Dogs that had been completely crippled now running around like young pups after receiving the treatment. Apparently there are researchers here in San Diego working on it, but not available for people yet. Not sure what the second company is doing that I posted the link for. Sounds like a money making operation, but no big surprise there. penny <usenethod@...> wrote: I'm a touch skeptical glancing at it; I'm really uninformed, though. I don't think it's that

complicated, I just don't happen to know muchabout it. But I thought there was this hierarchy - development startswith pluripotent ("many potentials") or totipotent ("all potentials")stem cells that can give rise to any cell. The bone marrow cells arealways referred to as hematopoietic ("blood-making") cells, which Ithought meant they were partially committed and could only give riseto blood cells (red cells and all the different white cells). So I'mlike, what are they doing with these marrow cells... and are the fatcells any different? Are the marrow cells able to do anything otherthan make blood?"The types of adult stem cells that we use are stem cells derived fromthe patient's own blood and bone marrow, and from the patient's own fat."> http://www.vet-stem.com/equine/> > http://www.vet-stem.com/smallanimal/> > Friend told me about this having remarkable results in animalswith severe joint & tendon problems. Last I heard he was flying to Europe to get the materialsneeded. Don't know where

he's at with it now. But the more I hear, themore I'm thinking this may hold some promise for us. Seems to be arapidly advancing field.> > penny>
