Thanks to all who responded re: low carb for pregnancy recommendations. Today I

cut back on carbs and I'm feeling a lot better already. I've decided to keep

the carbs below 100g per day for now, and then cut back a little more when I get

used to that. But my aches are going away, I was a lot more focused and present

today, and I enjoyed myself more, just doing mundane things. The main benefit

is that I really enjoyed being with my daughter, and didn't realize until now

how carbohydrates took me away from her mentally.

The key today was to eat small dishes of ice cream all day (I make it from raw

cream with very small amounts of raw honey as sweetner - so it doesn't have a

high carb count). That kept me satiated. I also started eating spaghetti

squash with parmesean cheese on it (stirred in when squash is hot so it melts) -

an old low-carb favorite that really fills me up with the same satiety level as

pasta. And of course, my own personal version of a slim-fast shake - raw kefir

egg nog, with a little less raw honey than usual and a little more coconut oil.

That gave me about 6 hours of great energy.

I am surprised by my body's quick rebound from the 7 circles of carbo addiction.

But I am even more surprised by the negative effects of so-called " good "

carbohydrates - even organic fruit and NT acceptable bread. I'm looking forward

to getting even more energy in the next few days.

It seems that the macronutrients are just as important as the micros.

Dana,

I had easier pregnancies by reducing my consumption of fruits and eating

vegies to get the vitamins I needed. I don't know how this fruit versus

vegetable question is understood in terms of your " low carb " counts, but

the fruits caused me more trouble than the vegies.

For what it's worth,
