Erlichiosis is a tick co-infection,in the ricketsia family From Merck manual 2006: erlichiosis hematologic and hepatic abnormalities: 1. leucopenia=is a decrease in the number of white blood cells (leukocytes) found in the blood, which places individuals at increased risk of infection. 2. thrombocytopenia (not enough platelets that help blood clot ). 3. abnormal liver function, especially elevated levels of transaminases thrombocytopenia (not enough platelets that help blood clot ). 4. disseminated intravascular coagulation Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
