Guest guest
Another option is to stop the solid foods and go back to breast milk. Some experts believe that a baby shouldn't eat solids until one year. Mine started slowly at 9 months and was barely eating any solids at one year. Your sister's supply may have dropped off considerably, and she needs to start pumping asap in order to keep it up. Please feel free to call me if you want more help. (310) 470-4654. I'd be happy to help if I can. I have been through some of the worst breastfeeding challenges with my baby (due to drugs used during labor and delivery) and we got through it. I am somewhat of an armchair expert after what I've been through. One thing I learned is that generally (and this is not always true) children who are under one year who stop or resist nursing do so because of some reason other than natural weaning. Something could be stressing the baby out. But that isn't necessarily true. She may just prefer the food for some reason. I'm concerned that her nutrition hasn't been adequate and her milk quality is too low....She has eaten the typical SAD most of her life and has only recently improved it. Her only supplements are some cod liver oil and a multivitamin the doctor gave her... > What about a breast pump so she can just pump her milk? > ----- Original Message ----- > From: beckymauldin2001 > @y... > Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2002 12:50 PM > Subject: baby formula question- need help!! > > > I hate to sound so urgent, but my sister is about ready to put her > baby on soy formula because of the trouble she's having. Guest guest
I disagree on holding back on solid foods if there is not enought breast milk and the baby is over 6 months. Sally
